13 Day Irish Classic Tour ItineraryDay 1: Dublin Panoramic Tour & Dublin CastleYour tour begins at 2:00 PM at your Dublin hotel. Take a panoramictour of Dublin, seeing such sights as elegant Georgian townhouses, St.Stephen’s Green and the River Liffey. Visit Dublin Castle, the seat ofpower and government in Ireland for many centuries. Take a guided tourthrough the castle and see the State Apartments, used today for officialfunctions and presidential inaugurations. Enjoy a welcome drink with yourgroup before dining independently.
Day 2: Down Cathedral, The St Patrick Centre, Crumlin Road Gaol& BelfastVisit Down Cathedral where St Patrick’s historical burial site is marked bya huge boulder. Immerse yourself in his work, life, and times in the nearbySt Patrick Centre. Explore Crumlin Road Gaol and see what prison lifewas like through the ages. Head to central Belfast for some time to relaxbefore dinner at your hotel. Explore theGiant’s Causeway, enormous hexagonal columns formed by volcanicactivity 60 million years ago. In Derry join a local guide for a short walkingtour around the defensive walls that encircle the compact old city. Day 5: Westport & Westport Walking TourTravel through the rugged countryside of Donegal, renowned forheathery hills, sheep and the many tweeds made from their wool. Day 6: Sheepdog Demonstration & Westport HouseEnjoy views of the pilgrimage mountain of Croagh Patrick and stop in thebeautiful town of Leenane. Head to a local farm to watch skilled dogsherd sheep. View Killary Harbour, Ireland’s only fjord. Day 8: John B. Keane’s Pub & Dingle PeninsulaTravel along the River Shannon into County Kerry. In Listowel, sample teaand scones in the family pub of the late, famed playwright John B. Keane.Journey along the Dingle Peninsula to Slea Head for glorious scenic viewsof hills and coastline. Stop in Dingle for some free time before heading toKillarney. (B, D)
Day 9: Jaunting Car Ride, Ring of Kerry Highlights, Kenmare & KillarneyEnjoy a scenic, traditional horse-drawn jaunting car ride to Ross Castle andthe Kenmare Estate.
