Day 1: November 2nd (Tue) – Arrival in Cairo, Egypt

Welcome to Cairo, Egypt. A welcome drink awaits you at your hotel; settle in and start soaking up the atmosphere of this exciting city. 

The Ground Handler in Egypt will be waiting for clients upon arrival and will hand over a stamp visa to be stuck in each passenger passport, passengers then proceed through immigration. This is an included service the ground handler provides to all USA/ Canada / New Zealand/ Australian/ European passport holders. Philippine & Indonesian passport holder must get the visa from the Egyptian consulate in the country of origin.

Day 2 – November 3rd (Wed) – Cairo. Excursion to Memphis & Sakkara

Meet your Egyptologist and traveling companions after breakfast this morning. Depart for the ancient Egyptian capital of MEMPHIS, where you can admire the 40-foot statue of RAMSES II and the ALABASTER SPHINX. On to Sakkara, a vast desert necropolis built for kings and nobles, and its “STAIRWAY TO THE SKY,” the oldest of all pyramids. 

Tonight, enjoy a SOUND & LIGHT SHOW at the pyramids that will put these wonders of the ancient world into an easily understandable historic context. (B,D)

Day 3 – November 4th (Thur) – Cairo. Afternoon excursion to Giza

Your day begins with a guided visit to the EGYPTIAN MUSEUM which houses the world’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. 

In the afternoon depart for one of the Seven Wonders of the World: the guardian of the great pyramids, the enigmatic SPHINX, and the daunting PYRAMIDS OF GIZA. Cheops, with an original height of 496 feet, is the most colossal pyramid ever built. (B)

Day 4 – November 5th (Fri) – CairoIntra-Tour Flight to Luxor. Excursion to Denderah

Transfer to the airport this morning for your INTRA-TOUR FLIGHT to Luxor. Upon arrival at Luxor airport, we will collect our luggage and then move to discover some more ancient sites with an excursion to Dendera which is situated at the north of Luxor. Here we visit the TEMPLE OF HATHOR which is dedicated to the Hathor (goddess of love and joy) and its construction, beginning in the reign of Nectanebo I, continued into the Roman period. The temple has two decorated crypts, two halls with ceilings supported by columns and two funeral chapels, from where the famous “zodiac” from the Louvre comes. After making one last stop at the Temple of Isis, we’ll leave Dendera behind to head back to Luxor and our hotel for dinner. (B,D)

Day 5 – November 6th (Sat) – Luxor – Embarkation
Your morning is at leisure. Transfer to the ship for embarkation and lunch. This afternoon, explore the magnificent Karnak and Luxor Temples on the east bank, and experience the area at night during a memorable SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW. Return to your ship and enjoy a Belly Dance Show and dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 6 – November 7th (Sun) – Cruising: West Bank of Luxor – Edfu
Sightseeing today includes a visit to the West Bank of Luxor, the gateway to the Valley of the Kings & Queens. Also included are the tombs of King Tutankhamun and Ramses VI as well as the magnificent Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Continue to Edfu and tonight enjoy the Captain’s welcome cocktail reception and dinner on board. (B,L,D)

Day 7 – November 8th (Mon) – Cruising: Kom Ombo – Aswan
First we visit the TEMPLE OF EDFU, the most preserved temple in Egypt dedicated to the Horus God. Sail to KOM OMBO for a short walk to its bluff-top twin temples. The right side is dedicated to the crocodile god, Sobek-Re, while the left side is dedicated to the falcon god, Horus. Return to the ship and continue cruising to Aswan. After dinner, enjoy a Galabya Party on board tonight. (B,L,D)

Day 8 – November 9th (Tue) – Disembarkation in Aswan – Intra-Tour Air to Amman, Jordan

After breakfast, disembark in Aswan and join an Egyptologist for a visit of the High Dam, an incredible feat of engineering designed to protect the area from the Nile’s annual flooding, store water for agriculture, and generate hydroelectricity. Then, stop at a quarry to see the remarkable UNFINISHED OBELISK, commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut about 3,500 years ago. Also visit the majestic TEMPLE COMPLEX AT PHILAE. You’ll also get to experience a FELUCCA RIDE around the Agha Khan Mausoleum Afterwards transfer to the airport for your INTRA-TOUR FLIGHT to Amman, Jordan’s capital. Dinner on your own – during layover or after arrival. A group transfer is provided to your hotel. (B)

Day 9 – November 10th (Wed) – Amman. Excursion to Jerash & Desert Castles

After breakfast, head north of Amman for a 45 minute drive to the best preserved example of Roman civilization, the city of JERASH. Part of the Decapolis (the ten big Roman cities of the East), Jerash has been called the Pompeii of the East for its unique state of preservation. The city features theaters, churches, temples (Zeus and Artemis), a Nymphaeum and colonnaded streets. After the visit, proceed to the DESERT CASTLES in the eastern desert of the Kingdom, which offer the fresco art and zodiac dome of Qasr Amra baths; fortress-like enigmatic Qasr Karana; and the black basalt Roman/Medieval Islamic fort at Azraq. Transfer back to Amman for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 10 – November 11th (Thu) – Amman – Wadi Rum – Petra

An exciting visit to Wadi Rum is on the program today. Wadi Rum is the largest wadi (ravine) in Jordan and made eternally famous in the movie Lawrence of Arabia. Enjoy a spectacular FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE through the sand dunes and receive a keffiyeh, a local headscarf. Continue to the “Rose-Red City” of Petra, where you can relax at your hotel this evening or explore the ancient city. This evening, experience Petra in style as you partake in the PETRA BY NIGHT show. The experience starts by walking the Siq and to the Treasury that has been illuminated by over 1,500 candles. Day 11 – November 12th (Fri) – Petra
A full day of sightseeing with a Local Guide is dedicated to Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World®. Lost to the world for centuries, it is located in the biblical land of Moab. Enjoy an unforgettable experience as you walk down the SIQ, the narrow gorge made famous in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Stand in awe in front of the iconic and famed TREASURY. See spectacular temples and tombs created out of the rose-colored sandstone, and sip tea in a real BEDOUIN TENT. Dinner is included tonight. (B,D)

Day 12 – November 13th (Sat) – Petra – Kerak – Wadi Mujib – Madaba – Dead Sea

Start the day with a visit to the CRUSADER CASTLE in Kerak. Continue via Wadi Mujib for a visit to ST. GEORGE’S CHURCH in Madaba, which houses a precious 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land and explore MADABA ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM. Today’s major highlight is a visit to MOUNT NEBO, where Moses saw the Promised Land and Wadi Mujib, the “Jordanian Grand Canyon.” Continue to your hotel at the Dead Sea for your 2-night stay. Day 13 – November 14th (Sun) – Dead Sea. Excursion to Bethany

Visit Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where Christians believe Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Next is an opportunity to visit al AMIR WOMEN’S COOPERATIVE which helps local women become financially independent and increase their standard of living by preserving local heritage. The women share their special skills like hand weaving, fiber papermaking, pottery and cooking. Later, return to the shores of the Dead Sea, where you’ll have some time to experience the incredible buoyancy in the salt water. Your Tour Director hosts a farewell dinner tonight. (B,L,D)

Day 14 – 15 November (Mon) – Dead Sea – Departure from Amman

Your tour ends after breakfast this morning. A group transfer is provided to the Amman airport for your departure flight. (B)

Note: Group needs to depart together on the same flight or during the same departure window (preferred departure window is 60-90 minutes) to utilize the included group transfer to the airport. Any flights falling outside of that window are not eligible for the group transfer. Individual transfer costs can be quoted separately.

Passports must comply with immigration regulations. Regulations may include, but are not limited to the following: must have at least 2 blank pages when entering a country and must have no less than 6 months before expiring.

Egyptian Visa: U.S. citizens can obtain a renewable single-entry 30-day tourist visa upon arrival at Egyptian airports for a 25 USD fee. A multiple entry visa is also obtainable for 60 USD. The Government of Egypt has created a website for the issuance of “e-visas.”

Jordan Visa: The Jordanian visa issued upon arrival currently costs 40 JD (approximately 56 USD) for a single entry with one-month validity. Jordan will also issue a multi-entry five-year visa upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport for 114 JOD (approximately 160 USD).

Prior to travel, U.S. citizens may apply at a Jordanian Embassy for a dual-entry visa with three months validity for 60 JOD (approximately 85 USD) or a multi-entry visa with 60 months validity for 120 JOD (approximately 170 USD).

IDENTIFICATION: Passports are required for this tour at your expense. Certain countries require a minimum of 6 months passport validity from date of return home.
