ADVISEMENT ACTIVITY LEVEL
Select days, while there are not long walking tours or hikes, the itinerary will require that
guests be comfortable on their feet for longer periods of time. We often tour wineries and
cellars and other historic locations. Your itinerary includes walking tours in historic
locations that often have uneven cobblestones and stairs. We’ve endeavored to find a
balance so there is ample time to relax and enjoy lunch or a unique site, however there are
many visits that will require guests be on their feet and mobile for extended periods of
time.

Day 1 – Thursday, April 1, 2027
Arrive Zurich – Transfer to Chur
Welcome to Switzerland! Meet your Tour Director at Zurich Airport and transfer to your hotel in Chur. The day is at your leisure. Enjoy the Outlander Welcome dinner this evening!

Note: Group needs to arrive together on the same flight or during the same arrival window (preferred arrival window is 60-90 minutes) to utilize the included group transfer to the Chur hotel. Any flights falling outside of that window are not eligible for the group transfer. Individual transfer costs can be quoted separately. Chur Walking Tour
Join a local guide for a walking tour of Chur, Switzerland’s oldest city. The rest of the day is yours to explore until dinner at a local restaurant.

Chur – Bernina Express – Tirano – Lugano
Board the scenic Bernina Express train to Tirano, Italy, then travel by coach to Lugano. Take a guided walking tour of this lakeside town.

Lugano Free Day + Lake Cruise & Dinner
Day at leisure until evening when you’ll cruise Lake Lugano and enjoy a Ticinese dinner in a traditional Swiss restaurant.

Lugano – Gabiano – Genoa
Cross into Italy with a wine tasting and lunch at Castello di Gabiano. End the day in Genoa with a guided Old Town tour followed by dinner.

Genoa – Cinque Terre – Montecatini
Visit the famed Cinque Terre (weather permitting boat ride) before continuing to Montecatini and lunch with a view. Evening at leisure.

Montecatini – Excursion to Maranello
Visit the Maranello with a guided tour of the Ferrari Museum. Return to Montecatini for dinner.

Tour Orvieto with lunch, then continue to Rome for a panoramic drive and four-course dinner at a local restaurant.

Guided sightseeing including the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Square & Basilica to admire Michelangelo’s Pieta. Enjoy an excavation tour of St. Peter’s Basilica and then lunch at a local restaurant. That afternoon, visit the Colosseum and see the Roman Forum. Then a real Roman dinner!

Rome – Sorrento
Travel south to Sorrento for an orientation walk and indulge in lunch at a local restaurant. Spend a remarkable evening enjoying authentic 3-course dinner from the Campania region as you bask in the delightful Mediterranean atmosphere at one of the city’s most beloved historical restaurants!

Day 11 – Sunday, April 11, 2027
From Sorrento, Excursion to Positano
The most thrilling drive in Europe awaits as you travel along the famed Amalfi Coast for breathtaking panoramas and a visit to charming Positano. Marvel at the brightly painted buildings and flowering gardens clinging to the cliff side in this pretty village seen in “Under the Tuscan Sun”. Enjoy lunch with a view. From the Piazza dei Mulini, explore the city center as you like―walk along the enchanting beach; stroll along the steep and narrow lanes lined with boutiques, galleries, and decadent pastry shops; or maybe take a peek inside the magnificent Church of Santa Maria Assunta with its green and yellow majolica tile dome and legend-shrouded Black Madonna. Return to Sorrento for an evening at leisure.

Visit Castel del Monte, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Castel del Monte. Arrive in Bari to enjoy some free time before dinner at a local restaurant.

Excursion to Lecce & Alberobello
An all-day excursion begins in Lecce with a guided walking tour to include the Duomo and Santa Croce Basilica. Taste a local pasticciotto (filled pastry) and almond coffee. Continue to Alberobello for a guided walking tour to visit a Trullo (traditional stone conical-roof hut), followed by a traditional Italian lunch. Return to Bari for some free time prior to dinner at a local restaurant.
