Seven nights in Montana. Five nights beside the Blackfoot River. Twelve travelers.
This intimate journey pairs the easy rhythm of Missoula with five nights at River Camp, Paws Up Montana, where luxury safari-style tents, riverside dining, open skies and the legendary Blackfoot River create a distinctly Western kind of luxury.
A genuinely small Outlander group, designed around conversation, flexibility and shared evenings rather than a conventional escorted-tour rhythm.
Enough time to stop sampling Montana and settle into it, with the Blackfoot River just outside your tent.
Choose how active each day should be. Fish, ride, explore, visit the spa, or simply spend more time beside the river.
The river is not simply scenery here. It sets the pace. Mornings begin with water and mountain light; days unfold across the Montana landscape; evenings bring everyone back to River Camp for dinner, firelight and conversation.
“The seven-night structure is what makes this journey work. The Missoula nights give us an easy arrival and departure, while the five nights at River Camp give you time to actually settle into the rhythm of the Blackfoot instead of simply sampling Paws Up and leaving.”
River Camp sits directly on the Blackfoot River and contains just six luxury safari-style tents. Private decks, ensuite bathrooms, climate control, Wi-Fi and daily housekeeping bring genuine comfort into a setting that still feels connected to the landscape.
King bed, private ensuite bathroom and a private deck in the River Camp setting.
King bedroom plus a second bedroom with two twin beds, private ensuite bathroom and private deck.
Arrive in Missoula and settle into a standard room at Hilton Garden Inn Missoula. This is intentionally a light arrival day, giving everyone time to arrive without rushing.

Paws Up is intentionally different from a conventional escorted-tour schedule. Guests can choose different activities during the day and reconnect at River Camp afterward. Guided experiences such as fly fishing, horseback riding, trail or ATV activities, spa services and other offerings may carry additional charges and are subject to availability.
Fly fishing and other river experiences let you encounter Montana at the Blackfoot’s own pace.
Horseback and trail experiences offer a broader look at the property’s immense Western landscape.
A quiet morning, spa time or an afternoon near camp can be every bit as valuable as another scheduled activity.
Part of River Camp’s appeal is the ritual of returning. Paws Up’s current resort offering includes three gourmet meals per day, a selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, daily snacks and nightly camp fires, subject to the MGA group’s contracted terms.
The point is not to keep twelve people on the same schedule every hour. It is to give everyone something worth talking about when the group comes back together.
