DETAILED ITINERARY

November 1, 2021 Depart USA and Board your overnight flight

Day 1: November 2 (Tue) – Arrival in Cairo, Egypt

Welcome to Cairo, Egypt. A welcome drink awaits you at your hotel; settle in and start soaking up the atmosphere of this exciting city. 

Note: Group needs to arrive together on the same flight for the group transfer to the hotel. Individual transfer costs can be quoted separately.
The Ground Handler in Egypt will be waiting for clients upon arrival and will hand over a stamp visa to be stuck in each passenger passport, passengers then proceed through immigration. This is an included service the ground handler provides to all USA/ Canada / New Zealand/ Australian/ European passport holders. Philippine & Indonesian passport holder must get the visa from the Egyptian consulate in the country of origin.

Day 2 – November 3 (Wed) – Cairo. 
Excursion to Memphis & Sakkara

Meet your Egyptologist and traveling companions after breakfast this morning. Depart for the ancient Egyptian capital of MEMPHIS, where you can admire the 40-foot statue of RAMSES II and the ALABASTER SPHINX. On to Sakkara, a vast desert necropolis built for kings and nobles, and its “STAIRWAY TO THE SKY,” the oldest of all pyramids. 

Tonight, enjoy a SOUND & LIGHT SHOW at the pyramids that will put these wonders of the ancient world into an easily understandable historic context. (B,D)

Day 3 – November 4 (Thur) – Cairo. 
Afternoon excursion to Giza

Your days begins with a guided visit to the EGYPTIAN MUSEUM which houses the world’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. 

In the afternoon depart for one of the Seven Wonders of the World: the guardian of the great pyramids, the enigmatic SPHINX, and the daunting PYRAMIDS OF GIZA. Cheops, with an original height of 496 feet, is the most colossal pyramid ever built. (B)

Day 4 – November 5 (Fri) – Cairo
Intra-tour flight to Aswan - Embarkation

Transfer to the airport this morning for your INTRA-TOUR FLIGHT to Aswan. Upon arrival join Egyptologist for a visit of the High Dam, an incredible feat of engineering designed to protect the area from the Nile’s annual flooding, store water for agriculture, and generate hydroelectricity. 

Then, stop at a quarry to see the remarkable UNFINISHED OBELISK, commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut about 3,500 years ago. Also visit the majestic TEMPLE COMPLEX AT PHILAE. Transfer to the ship for embarkation and lunch. Tonight experience a FELUCCA RIDE around the Agha Khan Mausoleum. 

Return to your ship and enjoy the Captains welcome cocktail reception and dinner on board. (B,L,D)

Day 5 – November 6 (Sat) – Kom Ombo – Edfu

Sail to KOM OMBO for a short walk to its bluff-top twin temples. The right side is dedicated to the crocodile god, Sobek-Re, while the left side is dedicated to the falcon god Horus. 

Continue to Edfu and visit TEMPLE OF EDFU, the most preserved temple in Egypt dedicated to the Horus God. Return to the ship for dinner tonight. Enjoy a Galabeya Party on board tonight. (B,L,D) 

Day 6 – November 7 (Sun) 
East and West Banks of Luxor

Sightseeing today includes a visit to the West Bank of Luxor, the gateway to the Valley of the Kings. Sightseeing includes the tombs of King Tutankhamun and Ramses VI. Also see the magnificent Hatshepsut Temple as well as the Colossi of Memnon. 

Explore the magnificent Karnak Temple and experience it at night during a memorable SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW. (B,L,D)

Day 7 – November 8 (Mon) – Disembarkation in Luxor – Intra-tour air to Amman, Jordan

Disembark in Luxor and visit the TEMPLE OF LUXOR on the east back. Then transfer to the airport for your INTRA-TOUR FLIGHT to Amman, Jordan’s capital. A group transfer is provided to your hotel. Dinner is included this evening at the hotel. (B,D) 

Note: While in Jordan, the group is accompanied by tourist police

Day 8 – November 9 (Tue) – Amman.
Excursion to Jerash & Desert Castles

After breakfast, head north of Amman for a 45 minute drive to the best preserved example of Roman civilization, the city of JERASH. Jerash, part of the Decapolis (the ten big Roman cities of the East) has been called the Pompeii of the East for its unique state of preservation. 

The city features theaters, churches, temples (Zeus and Artemis), a Nymphaeum and colonnaded streets. After the visit, proceed to the DESERT CASTLES in the eastern desert of the Kingdom, which offer the fresco art and zodiac dome of Qasr Amra baths; fortress-like enigmatic Qasr Karana; and the black basalt Roman/Medieval Islamic fort at Azraq. Transfer back to Amman for dinner and overnight. (B,D) 

Day 9 – November 10 (Wed) – 
Amman – Wadi Rum - Petra 

An exciting visit to Wadi Rum is on the program today. Wadi Rum is the largest wadi (ravine) in Jordan and made eternally famous in the movie Lawrence of Arabia. 

Enjoy a spectacular FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE through the sand dunes and receive a keffiyeh, a local headscarf. 

Continue to the “Rose-Red City” of Petra, where you can relax at your hotel this evening or explore the ancient city. (B,L,D) 

Day 10 – November 11 (Thur) – Petra

A full day of sightseeing with a Local Guide is dedicated to Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World®. Lost to the world for centuries, it is located in the biblical land of Moab. 

Enjoy an unforgettable experience as you walk down the SIQ, the narrow gorge made famous in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Stand in awe in front of the iconic and famed TREASURY. See spectacular temples and tombs created out of the rose-colored sandstone, and sip tea in a real BEDOUIN TENT. (B) 

Day 11 – November 12 (Thur) – Petra – 
Kerak – Wadi Mujib –Madaba - Dead Sea

Start the day with a visit to the CRUSADER CASTLE in Kerak. Continue via Wadi Mujib for a visit to ST. GEORGE’S CHURCH in Madaba, which houses a precious 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land and explore MADABA ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM. 

Today’s major highlight is a visit to MOUNT NEBO, where Moses saw the Promised Land and Wadi Mujib, the “Jordanian Grand Canyon.” Continue to your hotel at the Dead Sea for your 2-night stay. (B,L,D) 

Day 12– November 13 (Fri) 
Dead Sea. Excursion to Bethany

Visit Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where Christians believe Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Next is an opportunity to visit al AMIR WOMEN’S COOPERATIVE which helps local women become financially independent and increase their standard of living by preserving local heritage. 

The women share their special skills like hand weaving, fiber papermaking, pottery and cooking. Later, return to the shores of the Dead Sea, where you’ll have some time to experience the incredible buoyancy in the salt water. Your Tour Director hosts a farewell dinner tonight. (B,L,D)

Day 13 – November 14 (Thur) Dead Sea – Amman

Your tour ends after breakfast this morning. A group transfer is provided to the Amman Airport for your departure flight. (B)

The hotels provided for your custom tour quotation will be of similar quality to those listed. Please note, no hotels are reserved at the time of quotation, therefore the hotel list is subject to change. 

Accommodations will be confirmed 60 days after receipt of deposit for tours traveling that same year and 120 days after receipt of deposit for tours traveling the following year and beyond. If for any reason we are unable to confirm a particular hotel within this timeline, we reserve the right to have additional time to confirm the hotel and may seek alternative accommodation. Accommodations will be provided in superior first-class hotels, or best available first-class. Twin- bedded rooms with private bath or shower, based on double occupancy. 

Hotel taxes, service charges, state and local taxes, porterage service for one piece of luggage per person, tips to baggage porters and hotel staff is all included in the tour prices. Groups must utilize a minimum of 10 hotel rooms.
