We’ve prepared these helpful reminders to help keep you safe, secure, and smiling the whole way.

🚌 Motor Coach & Vehicle Safety

  • Wear seatbelts at all times when available.
  • If a seatbelt is not functioning properly, contact your emergency group leader immediately.

🛡️ Personal Safety Tips

  • Keep wallets, phones, and valuables secure and out of easy reach.
  • Avoid oversized bags with too many compartments.
  • Politely decline requests for money or food from strangers, especially in large cities.
  • Watch for unmarked crosswalks and curbs—step carefully.
  • Travel in small groups to prevent separation.
  • Stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowds.

🏨 Lodging Safety

  • Upon arrival, note fire exits and safety features in your room.
  • Report defects or hazards to hotel reception and your group leader.
  • Read the fire safety notice displayed in your room.
  • Participate in cruise evacuation drills when applicable.

🧯 In Case of Fire

  • Evacuate immediately—don’t stop to collect items.
  • Use the nearest escape route and close doors behind you.
  • Raise the alarm and proceed to the designated assembly point.
  • If trapped, block door cracks with wet towels, call reception, and signal for help.

🧳 General Awareness Tips

  • Bright sunlight may make glass doors hard to see—approach carefully.
  • Be cautious on slippery marble or tiled floors.
  • Know how to use cooking appliances if self-catering.
  • If permitted to smoke, do so responsibly. Never smoke in bed.
  • Keep your room key nearby when sleeping.
  • Report any smell of gas or visual signs of faulty appliances (e.g., soot marks or orange flames).

🛏️ Balcony & Walkway Safety

  • Never lean over or sit on balcony railings.
  • Keep furniture away from balcony edges.
  • Never climb or pass items between balconies.
  • Always supervise children near balconies.
  • Make sure there’s a handle before closing the balcony door behind you!

🔐 Room Security

  • Use the room’s safe for valuables and documents.
  • Lock doors when inside and always secure windows when away.
  • Ask unknown visitors to identify themselves before opening your door.
  • Report suspicious activity to hotel staff or your group leader.

🏊 Swimming & Water Safety

  • Swim only where it is clearly permitted and within your skill level.
  • Never swim alone. Always supervise children.
  • Avoid swimming at night, after drinking, or on a full stomach.
  • Learn local emergency contact information for beaches or coastal areas.

🏖️ At the Beach

  • Obey warning flags and posted signage.
  • Be alert for rip currents, rocks, or sudden depth changes.
  • Only use jet skis or watercraft with proper instruction and safety gear.
  • If someone is in distress, alert a lifeguard or staff immediately.

🏊‍♀️ Pool Safety

  • Review pool rules before entering—lifeguards may not be present.
  • Know the depth and layout before diving. Never dive into water less than 9 feet deep.
  • Shower before swimming.
  • Do not enter pools after stomach illnesses for at least 48 hours.
  • Immediately report any accidents or contamination.
