LISBON, PORTUGAL: Get to know the rolling hills of Portugal’s colorful coastal capital. The city is a destination in itself, and it is recommended to spend time exploring historic Alfama and other districts, easily accessible on foot, bicycle, tram, or electric “tuk tuk.” You may wish to take a day tour to visit Fátima (an important Christian pilgrimage site), Nazaré (where you can see the UNESCO Batalha Monastery & where famous surfers ride the biggest waves in the world), and Óbidos (a small medieval town). Spend a day exploring Sintra and the Portuguese Riviera, including Pena Palace and castle Quinta da Regaleira. With Azamara’s extended stays, you have time to explore the city limits as well as surrounding landmarks.

SEVILLE, SPAIN: Explore the Iberian peninsula with its historic churches & synagogues, Moorish architecture, flamenco dancing, tapas, and more. Tour the Seville Cathedral, Alcázar, and Giralda. Travel to Granada to tour the Alhambra Palace and palaces of Albaicin. For the more daring, hike the famous “Caminito del Rey” along the steep walls of El Chorro gorge.

BARCELONA, SPAIN: Admire the distinctive designs of famed Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, including La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, La Pedrera-Casa Mila, and more. Explore Old Town, enjoy tapas and paella, and consider a day trip into the mountains to see Montserrat, Girona, or Costa Brava on a cogwheel train, or venture into Andorra or France.
