Day 3 – October 5th (SAT) – LUXOR
•Visit Dendera and the Temple of Hathor, goddess of love and joy. The Dendera Temple is dedicated to the goddess Hathor and its construction, beginning in the reign of Nectanebo I, continued into the Roman period. The temple has two decorated crypts, two halls with ceilings supported by columns and two funeral chapels, from where the famous “zodiac” from the Louvre comes. Enjoy dinner this evening at your hotel.

Day 4 – October 6th (SUN) – LUXOR. EXCURSION TO VALLEY OF THE KINGS & QUEENS
Visit the Valley of the Kings, site of the magnificence and grandeur of Egyptian burial
Architecture. Hear the stories of the many kings buried in the valley, including the tombs King Tuthmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut-Ankh-Amon, King Ramses VI, King Merneptah, and Amenhotep II.
Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built by Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thermoses I. Hear about the queen’s nearly 20-year reign as the only pharaonic women to rule Egypt during the 18th Dynasty (1490-1469 B. C).
Visit magnificent Valley of the Queens where the tomb of Queen Nefertari lies
Visit Deir el-Medina the workmen’s village who built the royal tombs
This evening enjoy dinner at a local restaurant
Day 5 – October 7th (MON) – LUXOR EMBARKATION- River Mysteries Revealed
Your morning is at your leisure
Transfer to your cruise ship to embark on your Nile River cruise ship with lunch on board
This afternoon, guided sightseeing includes the Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple.

Time to wander around at your own pace or perhaps take an optional excursion on the West Bank of the Nile

Day 8– October 10th (THU) – CRUISING ASWAN
Sail on a felucca (traditional wooden sailing boat) around Kitchener’s Island and the Mausoleum of Aga Khan
Take part in a Nubian Folklore presentation on board this evening
Day 9– October 11th (FRI) – ASWAN – DISEMBARKATION
Disembark and board your coach to travel to the High Dam of Aswan, an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960s. From the top of the High Dam, you can gaze across Lake Nasser to the Kalabsha Temple in the south and the huge power station to the north. Cross the reservoir of the Aswan Low Dam by boat to visit the island site of the Temple of Philae and follow your guide on a walking tour to explore this remarkable monument to the goddess Isis.
Then explore the Northern Quarry to see the extraordinary Unfinished Obelisk, abandoned here due to a crack in the sculpted bedrock. See the stoneworkers’ marks that are visible on the stone and hear the fascinating stories of ancient Egyptian quarries and the history of the 1-tonne obelisk with a knowledgeable Egyptologist. Arrive at your Aswan hotel to enjoy dinner.
Day 10 – October 12th (SAT) – ASWAN–INTRA VACATION AIR – CAIRO
Transfer to the Aswan airport for your flight to Cairo.
Upon arrival see the Sphinx and the Great Pyramids
Transfer to your Giza hotel for the balance of your day at leisure

Pack thousands of years of history into a single day on this half-day Egyptologist-led excursion. You’ll see the vast ancient burial grounds at Sakkara with the world-famous Step Pyramid of Djoser.
Continue to the mouth of the Nile Delta for a stop at Memphis, Egypt’s first capital and bustling ancient hub of commerce, trade, and religion. See the colossus of Rameses II statue, and more.

After breakfast one group airport departure transfer is included to the Cairo airport for your flight back to the USA

The hotels provided for your custom tour quotation will be of similar quality to those listed. Please note, no hotels are reserved at the time of quotation, therefore the hotel list is subject to change. Accommodations will be confirmed 60 days after receipt of deposit for tours traveling that same year and 120 days after receipt of deposit for tours traveling the following year and beyond. If for any reason we are unable to confirm a particular hotel within this timeline, we reserve the right to have additional time to confirm the hotel and may seek alternative accommodation. Accommodations will be provided in superior first-class hotels, or best available first-class. Twin- bedded rooms with private bath or shower, based on double occupancy. Hotel taxes, service charges, state and local taxes, porterage service for one piece of luggage per person, tips to baggage porters and hotel staff is all included in the tour prices.

Egyptian Visa: U.S. citizens can obtain a renewable single-entry 30-day tourist visa upon arrival at Egyptian airports for a 25 USD fee. A multiple entry visa is also obtainable for 60 USD. The Government of Egypt has created a website for the issuance of “e-visas.”
IDENTIFICATION: Passports are required for this tour at your expense. Certain countries require a minimum of 6 months passport validity from date of return home. You are strongly urged to contact the appropriate consulate for details.
