The Real Key West with Sunset Key, January ’25

January 12th – 18th, 2025 for 6 nights, hosted by Troy M.

Have you ever been chilled on a January day and thought about going somewhere warm and fun, and getting a little sun on your face?  Have you ever wondered what Key West has to offer, beyond being a 5 hour port of call?  Well, we have the perfect solution for you: A 6-night guided tour of Key West (with plenty of free time), Sunset Key, and Fort Myers in January, 2025!

This trip is part of our Travels with Troy collection.

My name is Troy, and I’ve spent many winter weeks in the Keys, exploring places, participating in activities, and visiting many hotels, restaurants, and sunset tiki-bars.  As a certified agent of the “Key Lime Academy”, I’ve used this knowledge and first-hand experience to create an 6-night trip, traveling from Fort Myers to Mile 0 in Key West, reaching the southernmost point of the USA.  The itinerary includes the best of Key West, Sunset Key, and Ft Myers (via Ferry).  This is a small-group trip (12 couples maximum), so if you are interested, I would encourage you to review the “Next Step” listed at the end of this document.

Scenes from 2024’s inaugural Keys trip (with a different itinerary from 2025):

Itinerary (Jan 12-18) for the “Winter Weather Buster” Tour:

Jan 12: Arrive at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Fort Myers for our 1st night. The resort has much to offer, and after dinner, we’ll have a brief group meeting to discuss our upcoming days together.

Jan 13: Board the Key West Express for our 3.5 hour boat ride to Key West. Upon arrival, we’ll lay the groundwork of how to get around the unique island of Key West, check into our fabulous hotel (the Opal Key Resort & Marina), and then head over to Mallory Square for a sunset celebration.

Jan 14, 15, 16: Our days will be filled with casual fun, visiting many of the best attractions that Key West has to offer, such as: the Butterfly Conservatory, the Key West Museum of Art & History, Ernest Hemingway’s house, Mel Fisher’s Maritime Museum, a ride on the famous Conch Train, Mile 0 of US-1, the Southernmost Point Buoy, Harry’s Truman’s Little White House, and more! Evenings are up to you, as there are many choices of food and entertainment very near our resort, on the world-famous Duval Street. We’ll spend a wonderful dinner together on the 16th in a very unique dining spot, Latitudes restaurant on Sunset Key.

Jan 17: While our check-out time is 11am, we will have until 4:00pm to stroll around Key West one last time before heading back to Ft. Myers on the Key West Express, the perfect time to pick up those last minute unique souvenirs! We’ll once again spend the night at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Fort Myers.

Jan 18: We bid our farewells, and begin our individual trek’s back to our more northern homes.
