Hailing from the Buckeye State, Troy moved to Murrells Inlet in 2015, via a home purchased with the real estate expertise of Kelly Graham. Within a few months of arriving, Troy began his career with MGA Travel. Troy’s primary responsibility at MGA Travel is to work with clients on building the trip of their dreams, whether that be a River Cruise, Ocean Cruise, or Land Tour. Troy also works with various groups on creating their reservations, and occasionally traveling with those groups as a host.

Having graduated from the Ohio State University, Troy originally put his Business degree to work in the technology industry. After ten years of working in Columbus, Ohio, Troy went back to school to acquire a high school teaching degree. The next twelve years were spent near Lima, Ohio, teaching high school Business classes, coaching the Varsity Baseball team, and working as an Athletic Director. During all of this time, Troy, his wife Sue, and their sons Jaret and Luke, spent a lot of time in Myrtle Beach. This was due to the fact that Troy’s parents had bought a house there, about thirty blocks from where his brother Jason had been living since 1998. Troy’s hobbies include kayaking in the ocean and inlet, bike riding, reading, listening to live music, and walking his dog Enzo on the beach. When it comes to travel, Troy loves going to new places and exploring off the beaten path. When asked about a favorite trip he listed a trip from 2019: a Mediterranean cruise with a wonderful group, during which he was able to spend several days with family in Italy, and attend a Jimmy Buffett concert in Paris. His favorite destinations are Italy, the Florida Keys, Alaska, the Caribbean and the Greek Islands. Sue, Troy’s wife, is a nursing professor at Coastal Carolina University. They have two sons, Jaret & Luke.
